The move

Thanks so much for the encouraging comments on my previous post. Like I said, most people knew about the big "D" but I think this wraps up all the stragglers. The nice thing is knowing that people know. It's just like Joanna said. A weight has been lifted.
Mikey is adjusting quite well. I think the fact that he is so young is a huge blessing. He knows daddy lives in a different house. He knows everyone loves him and nothing changes that. We don't make him pick sides or make snide remarks about the other in front of him (We do it in person, hehehe just kidding). He is smart and healthy and happy. What else could a mom ask for?
School is done next Friday. I can't wait for some sweet relief. I move in less than 3 weeks. I will be in Phoenix for most of December, enjoying the sun and a break from the drama here. It will be so nice.
Meanwhile, I am sad I don't get to decorate for Christmas this year. Oh well, there is possibly next year.
I still have my Starbucks and Facebook addiction. I don't know when that will change and I still looooooove Skype. My best friend Karen and I skype almost everyday...even after we have hung out for 8+ hours watching movies because Mikey is with his dad.
That about does it. I am sure I will get a little big more into blogging with my free time coming up before I start work and school again in the New Year. Hope you are all enjoying your families and holidays!

School

This semester is almost over, I can taste it.
Other news is that Scott and I are splitting up and Mikey and I are moving to Nevada to live with my parents. I think by now most people that read this knew this news already.
Mikey talks soooooo much. He has a real zest for life and the best thing that ever happened to me.
That's all the news for now. I wanted to write more but felt the need for a "private" blog...as if when you blog it can be private! Ha.

Heaven

I haven't posted in a while. When I post I tend to complain or gripe. Lately life has been stressful. I sat in class today and wondered what to blog about. I didn't really have anything. Then a friend of mine was asking, via facebook, to pray for a friend of hers. I don't normally check this stuff out but I did for some reason.
The Sullivans
If you are interested then you should check it out. It is a beautiful family with a mom/wife,Sara, that was diagnosed with cancer. The blog is mainly from the husband's point of view. She undergoes chemo while pregnant. Baby Chloe was born and able to come home. Sara died today. That's the synopsis. Obviously it would be better to read the blog. No matter what your religious view, it is amazing to read.

Thank Heaven for Little Boys

Yesterday when playing at a friend's house Mikey and his friend Nikolas consume 2/3 of a bag of oreo cookies. The mommies consumed 1/3. This is what happens when the mommies are watching Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
There seemed to be a normal amount of noise (you know, no one is screaming bloody murder but they aren't being mischievously quiet either) emitting from the room so we didn't think anything abnormal was going on.
My friend's husband, Lance, came home, walked back to see the kids, went to change and came back out to the living room. At this point I asked out loud, "What are the boys doing back there?" Lance tells us in a very calm manner, "They are eating a whole bag of Oreo's."
My friend Kristen and I look at each other and simultaneously shout, "NOOOOOO!"
Kristen and I didn't see Nikolas go into the kitchen and walk past us with the bag. Lance thought we were just being nice and gave them the bag. I may be nice sometimes but I am not crazy enough to give a 3 and a 4 year old a whole bag of cookies and say, "Knock yourselves out kids!"
It was already almost 5 pm. No dinner would be had by either boy that night. In fact, Mikey went to bed with an ouchy tummy.

Pathetic...

My blogging has been pathetic...no, that's incorrect. It's been non-existent. I just let everything fall behind. since facebook came along I just update my status and use it like twitter.
This week I am writing from Fabulous Las Vegas. Mikey and I are just finishing up our week with my parent. Scott came out over the weekend but had to be back at work on Monday. My parents bought Mikey a bike with training wheels. He loves pedaling ,but mostly he loves pedaling backwards. The weather has been very mild for this time of year so we are soaking up the rays without too much heat.
Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to upload today. My camera died after the weekend and I have to wait to get home to charge it up.
What else is new? Let me think. Mikey misses going to school...a few days a week he asks if he is going to school. I try to tell him that it's summer and he and I will both go back to school in Autumn. He really just wants to see his friends.
On a fun note, Mikey got to see some kids of friends we knew in Alaska. It was cute to see them all together. Pictures to come...hopefully....if I don't forget.

Dear Blog,
I am so sorry for the neglect. Since school started, I have found it a tad bit difficult to juggle being a single mom and going to school. (Scott is away for a few months for training...everything is fine.) I am trying to blog but it doesn't happen. Facebook happens. Anyways...Hello. I miss you.
Love,
Lysandra

Michael is at a very funny stage in his life right now. I love that he is 3, but I still crave those newborn, head smelling, carrying him in my arms, oh look I think he smiled (or was it gas) days. The conversations we have now are pretty cool, though.
For example: Friday morning I made eggs with his favorite cheeses (Havarti and muenster). As a side, I put slices of avocados. He looked at me. He looked at his plate. He looked at me. He looked at his plate, then he looked at me again.
Mikey: Mom, are these cados?
Me: Yes, they are delicious with eggs, try them.
Mikey: That is NOT awesome.
